About 2 months ago, news broke that a potential world record crappie had been caught in Tennessee. As it turns out, it wasn’t far up the road from me. That afternoon, I went with my son to a baseball game just miles from where it was caught. I was wearing my ETCC shirt, and a gentleman ask me if I’d heard about the catch. I said “yes” and asked if he knew the young man.
His answer was “he’s my cousin”. I said “Wow! I’d like to talk to him”. He pulled out his cell phone, and the next thing, I was talking to Jam Ferguson. We talked about 10 minutes, and I invited him to go fishing. It took a while, but today, we made it happen. His first trolling trip and the crankbaits showed out. PICO Grenada Green led the way with bandits in crawdad and mistake; both produced. It was a good morning on the water with 17 keepers. This kid can fish! Thanks Jam for a day with crappie royalty.
